Erik, a Viking plagued by conscience, becomes disillusioned with the incessant violence and pillaging of his people. After a raid where he unintentionally kills an innocent woman, Erik questions his warrior's existence. Learning from a sage that the land suffers from an age-old curse, Erik embarks on a perilous journey to awaken the gods and end this perpetual darkness. He assembles a diverse crew from his village, including earnest allies and deceptive schemers, each with their motives and quirks.

Setting sail for mythical lands, they face numerous challenges that test their resolve and unity.
