I'm So Excited!
Director: Pedro Almodóvar
Actors: Javier Cámara, Pepa Charro, Cecilia Roth
PlotAn impending technical failure on Peninsula Flight 2549 bound for Mexico City creates a desperate situation for its passengers and crew. After takeoff, it's discovered that the landing gear is damaged by ground equipment, preventing the plane from properly touching down. The crew, including Captain Alex and his equally high-strung co-pilot Benito, starts preparing for an emergency landing. Meanwhile, the economy-class passengers are sedated to avoid panic, leaving the more exclusive business class to confront their fate. The flamboyant and eccentric cabin stewards — Joserra, Ulloa, and Fajas — try to alleviate the tension through humor, dance routines, and mixing potent cocktails, distracting everyone from the grim reality.
The confined space of the aircraft intensifies personal dramas among the passengers and crew. Confessional dialogues reveal their deepest secrets and regrets, creating unexpected bonds and confrontations. Bruna, a psychic virgin, anticipates a tragedy and converses with the spirits, adding a mystical touch to the unfolding chaos. Each character's backstory weaves through hilarious and poignant moments as they grapple with the surreal presence of mortality. As they circle over Spain waiting for a chance to land, relationships are strained, new romances bloom, and everyone searches for redemption or at least a brief respite amid the turbulence that may define their last moments.

Highly entertaining but uneven, 'I'm So Excited!' offers great video and audio, though the extras lack substance. Recommended as a rental.
