PlotA cat named Francis moves to a new neighborhood with his owner and quickly finds himself embroiled in a series of gruesome feline murders. The curious and intelligent Francis begins to investigate after stumbling upon a dead cat on his first day. As he delves deeper into the mystery, he befriends an assortment of local cats, including a gruff and streetwise feline named Bluebeard, who provides valuable insights and helps Francis navigate the neighborhood's dark underbelly. During his investigation, Francis discovers evidence suggesting a pattern with the killings and comes across mentions of a mysterious figure known as Claudandus.
The murders lead Francis to uncover strange religious rituals and bizarre experiments conducted on cats. He meets various individuals who each hold pieces of the puzzle, learning about a cult that worships Claudandus and is obsessed with the concept of genetic purity among cats. Throughout his journey, Francis faces moral quandaries, deciphering which cats can be trusted and who might have secrets that threaten them all. Every clue leads him closer to discovering the truth but also deeper into danger. The atmosphere grows increasingly tense and perilous as Francis's resolve to stop the murders intensifies, but each revelation hints at a larger scheme that could shake the very foundations of the feline world.
