Another Stakeout
Director: John Badham
Actors: Richard Dreyfuss, Emilio Estevez, Rosie O'Donnell
PlotDetectives Chris Lecce and Bill Reimers are assigned a high-stakes operation to locate a key witness in a major trial against a mobster. The witness is under the protection of the police but goes missing after a botched hit attempt by the mob. To ensure her safety and secure her appearance in court, the detectives are dispatched to surveil her last known location. Much to their dismay, they are paired with Gina Garrett, an enthusiastic assistant district attorney who insists on being an active participant in the stakeout. Despite their lack of enthusiasm for her involvement, Chris and Bill must adapt to her demands while maintaining their covert perimeter.
As they dive deeper into the surveillance, posing as a family, they face numerous challenges, including blending into the suburban neighborhood and managing Gina's often overzealous approach. Their cover is repeatedly tested as suspicious neighbors and unforeseen events complicate their mission. Misunderstandings and comedic situations ensue as they navigate their roles and deal with personal conflicts. The delicate balance between professional duty and maintaining their facade becomes increasingly precarious as the mob closes in on discovering their hideout.
