Actors: Jeff Daniels, Anna Paquin, Dana Delany
PlotAfter her mother dies in a car accident, 13-year-old Amy Alden moves from New Zealand to Ontario, Canada, to live with her estranged father, Thomas, an eccentric inventor and artist. Amy struggles to adjust to her new life and cope with her grief. While exploring the countryside, she discovers a nest of abandoned goose eggs. She takes them home, and when they hatch, the goslings imprint on her, believing she is their mother. Faced with the challenge of raising them, Amy and Thomas realize that the birds need to migrate south for the winter, but without a mother goose to lead them, they will not survive.
Thomas devises a plan to teach the geese to fly by designing an ultralight aircraft to guide them. Amy and Thomas embark on an extraordinary journey to lead the geese on their migration route. They encounter numerous challenges and obstacles, including interference from the local authorities and the threat of the geese being captured. The journey becomes a test of their ingenuity, resilience, and the bond between father and daughter. As they confront nature's hurdles and their personal struggles, the adventure transforms into a poignant tale of determination, family, and learning to soar above life's difficulties.
