Secret Sunshine

PlotShin-ae, a recently widowed woman, decides to move with her young son Jun to her late husband's hometown, Miryang, in hopes of finding peace and starting anew. She opens a piano school and makes an effort to integrate into the local community, finding a source of support in Jong-chan, a friendly local mechanic who takes an interest in her and helps her acclimate to small-town life. Her initial attempts to rebuild her life seem hopeful as she navigates the challenges of being a single parent and adjusting to her new environment.
However, an unthinkable tragedy shatters her fragile sense of stability, plunging her into deep despair. Struggling to cope with her grief and seeking solace, Shin-ae turns to religion, hoping to find comfort and answers in her faith. Her journey through sorrow and healing becomes increasingly complicated as she grapples with the concepts of forgiveness, redemption, and the meaning of true solace.
