PlotAn aging rock star, living off his past glory and struggling with substance abuse, discovers an undelivered letter written to him by John Lennon forty years ago. The letter inspires him to reassess his life and his choices, igniting a desire to reconnect with his estranged family. He decides to cancel his tour and heads to New Jersey in hopes of building a relationship with his grown son, who he has never met.
In New Jersey, he checks into a modest hotel and attempts to bridge the gap with his son's family, all while trying to maintain his newfound sobriety. Along the way, he forms a bond with the hotel's manager and begins to find meaning outside his music career. His efforts lead to a series of both humorous and heartfelt events that challenge him to face his past mistakes and reimagine his future.
