Eddie Weinbauer, a high school outcast and heavy metal fanatic, finds solace in the music of his idol, the rebellious and controversial rock star Sammi Curr. Haunted by bullying at school and feeling misunderstood at home, Eddie discovers inspiration and escape in Sammi's defiant lyrics and persona. Tragedy strikes when Sammi unexpectedly dies in a mysterious hotel fire. Devastated, Eddie receives a rare vinyl record of Sammi’s unreleased album, given to him by his radio DJ friend, Nuke. Eager to hear Sammi's last gift to his fans, Eddie plays the record and is both astonished and frightened when he uncovers subliminal messages embedded in it.

As Eddie delves deeper into the record's secrets, the messages begin to influence his thoughts and actions, promising him revenge against those who have tormented him. The once passive Eddie is drawn into a sinister pact with supernatural elements linked to the deceased rock star. Strange occurrences start to pervade the town, hinting at darker forces at work.
