Jo Rosales, a teenage girl, is placed under the Witness Protection Program after witnessing a mafia hit. She is moved from New York City to a small town and given a new identity as "Dominique." Struggling with her new life, Jo faces the challenges of fitting in at her new high school while dealing with the trauma of her past. Her handler, Kevin, tries to provide guidance and safety, but Jo remains haunted by memories and fears that the mafia will find her.

As Jo navigates her new reality, she develops friendships that help her cope, though she remains wary and distant.
