A young farmer named Lem travels from his rural home to Chicago to sell the farm's wheat. In the bustling city, he meets and falls in love with Kate, a spirited waitress working in a downtown café. Charmingly persistent, Lem convinces Kate to marry him and return to the countryside. Kate, yearning for a new life away from the drudgery of city living, agrees and they set off for Lem's family farm.
