To preemptively strike against the extraterrestrial menace, Earth's government reinstates retired General James Ford, known for his controversial decisions in previous conflicts. Assembling a team of elite soldiers, scientists, and fellow former military personnel, Ford sets out on a dangerous mission to deliver a quantum bomb to the alien homeworld, hoping to eliminate the threat before it fully manifests.
