PlotA young boy nicknamed Zucchini struggles with the abrupt loss of his mother and is sent to a foster home by a kind police officer named Raymond. This new environment houses other orphans, each carrying their own heavy burdens. Initially shy and apprehensive, Zucchini gradually begins to open up as he interacts with the other children. His solitary nature starts to soften through the bonds he forms with the energetic Simon and the empathetic Camille. Their shared experiences of loss and resilience foster a sense of camaraderie and healing.
As Zucchini navigates the complexities of his new life, he learns the value of friendship, trust, and self-acceptance. Raymond continues to play a supportive role, showing Zucchini that there are caring adults who can be trusted. In building meaningful relationships with the other kids, Zucchini discovers hidden strengths within himself and begins to dream of a better future. The story is tenderly told, emphasizing the impact of compassion and solidarity on young lives scarred by adversity.
