Ben Barber, fresh out of the police academy, is trying to prove himself as a detective before his upcoming wedding to Angela, the sister of tough-as-nails detective James Payton. James, however, doubts Ben's abilities. When a drug ring investigation leads the duo to Miami, they are asked to work together by Angela, with James reluctantly agreeing. In Miami, they team up with local detective Maya and tech-savvy hacker A.J. to uncover a lead on the city's most dangerous criminal organization. As they dig deeper, they find that the case involves not only drugs but also a larger conspiracy that implicates high-profile figures in Miami.
