Hundreds of Beavers
Director: Mike Cheslik
Actors: Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, Olivia Graves, Doug Mancheski
PlotIn the dead of winter, a scrappy applejack distiller’s life is turned upside down when a pack of pesky beavers destroys his farm and still. Stripped of his livelihood and fortunes, he is plunged into a harsh wilderness where survival becomes his only focus. The distiller, driven by desperation and ingenuity, decides to hone his skills as an unlikely trapper to restore his way of life. He fashions crude traps and weapons out of the forest's offerings, setting his sights on the beavers who upended his world. With each small victory, his plans grow bolder. He embarks on a comical yet harrowing personal quest that is as much about self-discovery as it is about conquering nature’s adversaries.
As he adapts to his new reality, the line between man and nature blurs, leading him to confront his own limitations and resilience. Along the way, he encounters a cast of quirky characters, including a determined romance interest and a wise old trapper who reluctantly offers guidance. These encounters blend humor with the harsh lessons of survival. As time passes and he learns from both human and animal kin alike, every challenge brings him closer to a singular goal: reclaiming his life and finding redemption in unexpected places. Through slapstick mishaps and clever strategies, the man's journey unfolds in a series of escalating events that continually test him to outwit not just the beavers but the whims of fate itself.
