Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
Director: Patrick Hughes
Actors: Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek
PlotTwo years after the events of the first film, the bodyguard Michael Bryce continues his friendship with hitman Darius Kincaid as they embark on a new adventure. Bryce, stripped of his bodyguard license, is on a company-mandated sabbatical when he’s suddenly pulled back into action by Darius's even more volatile wife, Sonia. Her demand for his assistance in rescuing Darius from the Mafia propels Bryce into a chaotic struggle, for which he's woefully unprepared, as he's promised his therapist to avoid any firearms or violence.
The trio's mission rapidly intertwines with a global plot when they come across Interpol agent Bobby O'Neill. O'Neill recruits them to prevent a catastrophic attack in Europe orchestrated by a vengeful and powerful madman. Their journey is fraught with deadly cadres of mercenaries and international intrigue. Amidst shooting, chasing, and escaping from a multitude of threats, Bryce grapples with his own issues, namely his rocky relationship with Darius and the larger-than-life presence of Sonia, who both constantly berate and belittle him, while also showing glimpses of camaraderie. The dynamics between the dysfunctional trio turn into a source of humor and reluctant teamwork as they attempt to put aside their differences to prevent widespread chaos.
