Without Love
Director: Harold S. Bucquet
Actors: Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, Lucille Ball
PlotIn the midst of World War II, a determined and resourceful woman named Pat Jamieson lives in Washington, D.C., where she manages her late father's estate. Seeking a practical living arrangement without emotional commitment, she encounters Jamie Rowan, an inventor working on a secret wartime project. They agree to a marriage of convenience founded purely on friendship and mutual support, deliberately excluding romantic involvement. Both driven by their careers and war-related duties, their relationship is built on respect and companionship as they navigate daily life under one roof.
As time progresses, the arrangement is tested by the complications of living in such close quarters and external pressures of the wartime environment. Both Pat and Jamie face personal challenges and emotional revelations that gradually chip away at their original agreement. Misunderstandings and honest conversations reveal underlying feelings they hadn’t anticipated. Allies in their social circle contribute to shifting dynamics within the household. The exploration of emotional intimacy and the strength of human connection becomes central to their partnership. Tensions rise as Pat and Jamie wrestle with unacknowledged emotions, forcing them to confront the reality of their bond and whether it can evolve into something more profound than what they initially intended.

Without Love showcases the charm of Tracy and Hepburn, albeit slightly overstretched, with stellar support from Ball and Wynn, enhanced by a pristine 4K restoration.
