Where Eagles Dare
Director: Brian G. Hutton
Actors: Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, Mary Ure
PlotDuring World War II, an elite team of Allied commandos is sent on a daring rescue mission, codenamed Operation Eagle, to infiltrate a fortress-like Nazi stronghold in the Bavarian Alps. The Schloss Adler, a castle accessible only by cable car, holds an important American general who purportedly has detailed knowledge of the D-Day invasion plans. Leading the team is British Major John Smith, with the steely American Lieutenant Morris Schaffer as his second-in-command. Together with their group of skilled operatives, they parachute deep into enemy territory, facing the harsh winter and the constant threat of exposure to German forces.
As the team works their way into the castle under the guise of German soldiers, deception and betrayal begin to unravel their meticulously planned mission. Unknown to them, there exist hidden agendas and a web of espionage that entangles friend with foe. Struggling against time, the operatives must navigate a complex labyrinth of enemy alliances, while trying to crack the high-level security of the Nazi fortress to complete their mission and escape with their lives. As their plan progresses, they find an unlikely ally in the form of a resourceful female agent, further complicating the already perilous operation.
