PlotDark wizard Gellert Grindelwald escapes custody, intent on gathering followers to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. Albus Dumbledore, unable to move against Grindelwald directly, enlists his former student, Newt Scamander, who is unaware of the dangers ahead. As Newt agrees to help, unaware of Grindelwald's true agenda, he sets off on a quest that leads him to Paris. Along the way, Newt encounters a spectrum of characters both new and familiar, each with their own motives and secrets. Among them are Newt's former love, Leta Lestrange, and his estranged brother, Theseus, who is engaged to Leta.
In Paris, Grindelwald's influence grows as his ideology attracts a following, stirring tension within the wizarding world. Newt's mission becomes increasingly perilous as he learns more about Grindelwald's past, his connection with Dumbledore, and the divisive path they both share. With the wizarding world becoming more divided, Newt and his allies face a series of challenges that test their loyalty, courage, and love. They must navigate the complex web of alliances and enmities, all while trying to fend off Grindelwald's expanding influence before it engulfs the world in chaos.
