The Lineup
Director: Don Siegel
Actors: Eli Wallach, Robert Keith, Richard Jaeckel
PlotTwo hitmen work for an international heroin-smuggling ring, retrieving drugs that have been unwittingly smuggled into San Francisco by innocent tourists. Their latest operation is fraught with tension, as they try to recover a shipment that has been divided into tiny parcels and hidden in the luggage and personal effects of passengers arriving on a ship from Asia. As each unwitting mule makes their way through the city, the hitmen, cool and calculating, follow close behind, ready to reclaim the contraband in their possession. Their methodical plan is executed with cold precision, taking them from one unsuspecting carrier to the next.
Complicating their mission, a series of mishaps throws the carefully orchestrated scheme into disarray, drawing the attention of law enforcement. An alert customs inspector gets involved, suspecting that something more sinister lies beneath the surface of these peculiar encounters. The hitmen find themselves playing a cat-and-mouse game through the iconic locales of San Francisco, from bustling Fisherman's Wharf to the labyrinthine streets that crisscross the city’s hills. As they race against time to gather the scattered drug parcels, the tension mounts and the stakes continue to rise, bringing them dangerously close to exposure.
