In ancient Judea, Clavius, a powerful Roman military tribune and his aide Lucius are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus following the Crucifixion. Ensuring Roman control amidst the political and social unrest, they are charged by Pontius Pilate to quash rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. Their mission is to find the body of Jesus to disprove the resurrection rumors, but they face obstructive temple authorities and fervent disciples.

As Clavius leads the search, he interrogates witnesses and follows leads.
