The Campaign
Director: Jay Roach
Actors: Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis
PlotIn North Carolina’s 14th District, Cam Brady, a long-term incumbent Congressman with a penchant for public gaffes and personal scandals, expects to sail to victory once more. His path to reelection seems assured due to the lack of opposition and his well-honed political machine, orchestrated by his savvy campaign manager. However, Brady's confidence is shattered when two wealthy CEOs, the Motch brothers, intent on using the district to their profit-seeking ends, conspire to find an opposing candidate they can manipulate.
Enter Marty Huggins, an eccentric and naive tourism director for the sleepy town of Hammond. Huggins is easily persuaded to run for office, motivated by his desire to make a positive impact and a personal belief in civic duty. Aided by Tim Wattley, a cutthroat campaign manager sent by the Motch brothers, Huggins undergoes a humorous and extreme makeover to become a more appealing candidate. As the election approaches, both campaigns devolve into chaos, with each side engaging in increasingly outrageous and dirty tactics, resulting in a wild and comedic battle for political supremacy in the district.
