Aladdin
Director: Guy Ritchie
Actors: Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott
PlotIn the bustling, vibrant city of Agrabah, a resourceful young street urchin named Aladdin dreams of a life beyond his petty thievery and yearns for the freedom to make his own choices. His life takes a turn when he encounters Princess Jasmine, the Sultan's daughter, who feels equally trapped by the confines of the palace walls and the societal expectations placed upon her. Under the disguise of a prince, Aladdin seeks to win Jasmine’s heart, but his pursuit is complicated by the grandeur of the royal court, his own humble origins, and Jasmine's desire to have a say in her own future.
Aladdin's fate is forever altered when he is led to a magical cave by Jafar, the Sultan’s power-hungry Grand Vizier. In the cave, Aladdin discovers a magical lamp containing a wisecracking, shape-shifting Genie with the power to grant him three wishes. Eager to woo Jasmine and to transform his life, Aladdin and the Genie become fast friends, navigating the pitfalls and perils presented by Jafar's dark scheming. As Aladdin becomes caught up in the Vizier's plots and the magical intrigue, he learns about the importance of being true to oneself, and that true power comes not from external wealth or appearance, but from inner character and integrity.

Aladdin's Blu-ray offers stunning video and audio, though the film itself, despite strong performances, lacks the magic of its animated predecessor.
