War of the Worlds: Goliath
Director: Joe Pearson
Actors: Adam Baldwin, Beau Billingslea, Kim Buckingham
PlotIn a reimagined early 20th century where Earth has already faced an initial Martian invasion chronicled by H.G. Wells, humanity has harvested the abandoned Martian technology to prepare for an expected second attack. Fifteen years after the first invasion, the world has united, developing advanced weaponry and military units known as "A.R.E.S" to defend Earth against future threats. The protagonists are members of an elite international combat team within A.R.E.S, equipped with tripedal battle machines and potent armaments derived from the alien tech. As tensions simmer and a sense of imminent conflict looms, the team braces for the unknown, holding the weight of humanity's survival on their shoulders.
On the eve of World War I, the Martians launch their second assault, more ferocious than before, taking advantage of the global political turmoil. As massive Tripods emerge to claim Earth once more, they encounter stiff resistance from the battle-hardened group of pilots and soldiers who are determined to fight back with their own colossal war machines. The battlefront stretches from the rural countryside to the heart of cities, rendering human structures to rubble. The team now must not only contend with the extraterrestrial invaders but also grapple with their personal histories, prejudices, and the daunting task of forging unity among diverse nations in the face of the ultimate threat.
