In 1630s New England, a devout Christian family led by William and Katherine is banished from a Puritan plantation over a religious dispute. They decide to establish their homestead on the edge of an isolated forest rumored to be controlled by witchcraft. As they strive to forge a new life, the family plants crops and builds a life of religious piety and hard work.
