Sean Anderson receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist, containing strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Ignoring his new stepfather Hank's warnings, Sean is determined to find the source of the signal. Hank, reluctantly drawn into the adventure due to his deepening bond with Sean, helps decipher the code. They pinpoint the location, prompting them to hastily prepare for a perilous journey. Together with a helicopter pilot and his daughter, whom they hire to transport them to the coordinates, they set off to discover the unknown.
