A British jazz pianist, Marcus Daly, living in Rome witnesses the brutal murder of a renowned psychic who had, earlier that evening at a lecture, sensed a presence linked to a past murder. Traumatized by what he has seen, Daly becomes obsessional about solving the crime. With the help of Gianna Brezzi, an indomitable journalist, he dives into the investigation, not fully realizing the danger it poses.
