PlotIn an ancient realm, the heavens are thrown into turmoil with the birth of a child destined to wield incredible powers. The child, born from a divine crystal touched by the chaotic energy of the Demon Pearl, is prophesied to bring disaster to the world in his third year. The gods decide to intervene, and a powerful Daoist immortal is sent to execute the child before he can fulfil the dire prophecy. However, the child's parents, desperate to protect him, switch their son with another baby and raise him secretly in a small village, where he grows into a mischievous and unpredictable boy named Ne Zha.
Despite his parents' efforts to shield him, Ne Zha grows up shunned by the villagers due to his destructive abilities and his perceived misfortune. His fiery temperament and extraordinary powers make it difficult for him to bond with others and to abide by the societal norms, leaving him isolated and misunderstood. An encounter with a demon ignites Ne Zha's desire to prove everyone wrong about his fate, setting him on a quest to discover his true potential and alter his destiny. As Ne Zha struggles with his identity and the burden of expectations, an imminent threat emerges, challenging him to rise above his reputation and harness his powers for a greater purpose.
