PlotKay and Arnold are a middle-aged couple whose marriage has settled into a routine of comfortable co-existence at the expense of intimacy and connection. After decades of marriage, they sleep in separate rooms, barely interact beyond mundane daily exchanges, and have lost the spark that once made them lively and deeply in love. Kay, yearning for an emotional and physical connection with her husband, discovers a renowned couple's specialist, Dr. Feld, in the small town of Great Hope Springs. Desperate to reignite the flame in her marriage, she persuades a skeptical Arnold to attend a week of intense marriage therapy sessions.
Upon arrival, they meet the soft-spoken but persistent Dr. Feld, who begins working with them to tackle the underlying issues of their relationship. Initially, Arnold's resistance and denial regarding their marital problems cause tension and discomfort. The therapy sessions force them to confront their past experiences and the patterns that have driven them apart. As the days pass, they begin to explore their fears, expectations, and disappointments. The couple's journey through therapy is a rollercoaster of emotions, as they face the daunting task of breaking down the walls between them and rediscovering why they fell in love in the first place.
