PlotIn the depths of São Paulo, Brazil, a legendary undertaker known as Zé do Caixão is released from a 40-year incarceration. Obsessed with continuing his quest to find the perfect woman to bear his child—believing that his lineage must carry on with superior intellect and immortality—he resumes his nefarious activities with a renewed fervor. Plagued by haunting visions from his past, he is unwavering in his dark and twisted ideology which revolves around disdain for organized religion and conventional morality. His quest for a mother to his exceptional offspring is driven by his belief in the superiority of his bloodline and an almost messianic conviction in his purpose.
Zé do Caixão assembles a grotesque coterie of followers who assist in his vile rituals and sadistic practices, involving torture and manipulation, as he searches for candidates for his morbid mission. The innocents in the city are not safe as he carefully selects women who might fulfill his desire for a progeny that embodies his notion of purity and strength. Meanwhile, the scars Zé do Caixão left on the community during his previous reign of terror have not healed, leading to a growing sentiment of dread and disgust among the locals. Unbeknownst to him, the forces of both man and mysticism are aligning to confront the embodiment of evil that he represents, setting the stage for a climactic struggle between long-standing traditions and the perverse fanaticism of Zé do Caixão.
