Hesher

Director: Spencer Susser
Actors: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Devin Brochu, Natalie Portman
PlotA young boy named T.J. struggles to cope with the recent death of his mother while living with his emotionally distant father, Paul, and grandmother, Madeline. T.J.'s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Hesher, a nihilistic, heavy-metal-loving loner who moves into his family's home uninvited. Hesher's presence is chaotic and destructive, but it also forces the family members to confront their grief and personal issues. Throughout this process, T.J. befriends a young grocery store clerk named Nicole, who is also dealing with her own struggles.
Despite Hesher's unpredictable and often hazardous behavior, his disruptive influence begins to push the family toward healing in unconventional ways. His rough yet honest demeanor creates a series of events that help T.J. and his father open up about their feelings and begin to reconnect. Nicole's involvement with T.J. also becomes a significant aspect of T.J.'s journey toward emotional recovery. Through these unlikely relationships, T.J. slowly discovers resilience and the possibility of finding hope amid his sorrow.
