God Bless America
Director: Bobcat Goldthwait
Actors: Joel Murray, Tara Lynne Barr, Mackenzie Brooke Smith
PlotFrank is a middle-aged, disillusioned divorcé grappling with a lackluster life and a deep-seated disdain for the downward spiral of American culture. Besieged by headaches, he faces layoff from his job and is diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor, further pushing him to the brink of despair. One night, while channel surfing, he is bombarded with cruel reality shows, crass commercials, and the vitriolic spew of pundits which amplify his feelings of disgust with societal decay. Disheartened with the world's cruelty and superficiality, and having nothing left to lose, he contemplates ending his life.
Before Frank takes any irreversible action, he is struck by a vision of righteousness, igniting a new purpose within him: he decides to rid the society of its most repellent citizens. His first target is Chloe, a spoiled teenage reality TV star throwing a tantrum over the wrong car at her sweet sixteen. Instead of executing his initial plan, a twist of fate leads Frank to cross paths with Roxy, a high school student with a similarly cynical outlook and a fascination with violence. Sharing a mutual loathing for America's moral erosion, Frank and Roxy embark on an unusual and dark campaign to eliminate those they perceive as the most obnoxious embodiments of America's cultural decline, forming an unconventional bond in their twisted crusade against the aspects of society they detest most.
