Actors: Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Walter Brennan
PlotIn the midst of World War II, fishing boat captain Harry Morgan operates out of the Caribbean island of Martinique. Reluctant to get involved in the conflict, Harry’s sole focus is on running charters for tourists. His resolve starts to waver when a penniless American named Marie Browning enters his life, seeking passage back to the United States. Complications ensue as Harry reluctantly agrees to help members of the French Resistance smuggle people off the island, maneuvering through dangerous and morally gray situations.
As tensions rise and allegiances are tested, Harry becomes increasingly entangled in a web of espionage and intrigue. His attempts to remain neutral prove futile, pushing him deeper into a world of danger and uncertainty. Amidst this turmoil, a growing bond with Marie forces Harry to reevaluate his priorities and confront the consequences of his actions. The stakes are high as Harry navigates perilous waters, both literal and metaphorical, challenging his principles and survival instincts.
