PlotSteve Thompson returns to Los Angeles after an aimless period away, only to rekindle feelings for his ex-wife, Anna. Despite their divorce, Steve is determined to win Anna back, and their newly reignited relationship grows more intense under the cover of secrecy. Unknown to Steve, Anna has become involved with Slim Dundee, a dangerous gangster. As tensions rise, Slim discovers their affair, and in a risky bid to stay close to Anna while safeguarding his own life, Steve agrees to help Slim plan an audacious armored car robbery.
As the plan unfolds, Steve finds himself increasingly trapped in a web of deceit and danger. The night of the heist brings mounting tension, with trust between the conspirators fraying and hidden agendas coming to light. Everything rests on careful timing and fragile alliances, as Steve struggles to protect both Anna and himself from the impending chaos.
