Blades of Glory
Director: Josh Gordon, Will Speck
Actors: Will Ferrell, Jon Heder, Amy Poehler
PlotChazz Michael Michaels and Jimmy MacElroy are rival figure skaters with dramatically different backgrounds and personalities; the former is a sex-crazed, self-taught rebel while the latter is a precocious, sheltered prodigy. When their fierce competition at the World Championships results in a tie for the gold medal, their on-ice brawl disgusts the event's sponsors and audience, leading to their disqualification and a lifetime ban from men's single competition. Both skaters find their lives lack meaning without the sport that defines them, plunging into despair as they're forced to leave their passion behind.
In an unlikely turn of events, the pair discovers a loophole in the ban that only applies to solo competition. With this knowledge, they attempt the unthinkable: partnering with each other to compete in pairs figure skating. Initially, their egos clash, but their shared goal of reclaiming skating glory compels them to set aside their differences. They train under Coach Robert, who employs unusual methods to help them foster teamwork and refine their talent. As they prepare for a high-stakes tournament that could reinstate their statuses, they must overcome not only their own personal conflicts but also mockery from the skating community and devious tactics from rival skaters, particularly the conniving sibling duo who will stop at nothing to ensure their fall from grace is permanent.
