PlotFrank Darbo is a down-on-his-luck fry cook whose life takes a downward spiral when his wife, Sarah, leaves him for a charismatic drug dealer named Jacques. Devastated and feeling powerless, Frank experiences a vision in which he believes he is chosen by a higher power to become a superhero. Adopting the alter ego of "The Crimson Bolt," he dons a homemade costume and wields a wrench as his weapon of justice. Despite having no real superpowers, Frank takes to the streets to fight crime, brutally attacking wrongdoers in his quest to rescue Sarah.
Frank soon meets Libby, a young comic book store clerk who enthusiastically embraces his vigilante crusade. She transforms herself into "Boltie," The Crimson Bolt's overly zealous sidekick. Together, the pair engages in increasingly violent encounters with criminals, driven by their belief in their mission to save Sarah and fight evil. Frank's journey explores themes of righteousness, morality, and the fine line between heroism and madness, as he struggles to reconcile his personal demons with his newfound identity.
