PlotIn the early 11th century, the Song Dynasty faces a formidable invasion from the Western Xia. The Yang family, famed for their military prowess and unwavering loyalty to the Emperor, finds itself in peril when General Yang Zongbao is killed in battle. His widow, Mu Guiying, a fierce warrior herself, refuses to let his death demoralize their troops. Instead, she steps up to rally the remaining soldiers and the women of the Yang clan, including elderly matriarch She Taijun and a host of skilled female fighters, to lead a counterattack against the invading forces.
As they prepare for an inevitably grueling series of battles, these brave women not only contend with the external threat of the enemy forces but must also navigate internal struggles, dealing with personal grief and doubts about their capabilities. They exhibit remarkable tenacity and wit as they fend off numerous assaults and plan strategies to outmaneuver their foes. The story highlights themes of courage, unity, and sacrifice, painting a vivid picture of the determination and strength that drives each character as the survival of their clan and the defense of their homeland rests squarely on their shoulders.
