V/H/S
Director: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, David Bruckner, Tyler Gillett
Actors: Calvin Lee Reeder, Lane Hughes, Adam Wingard
PlotA group of petty criminals is hired to break into a desolate house to recover a rare VHS tape. Upon entering, they find the lifeless body of an old man in front of a stack of TVs and video players, with a vast collection of tapes. As they search for the specific video, they become curious about the content and start watching the tapes, each containing a seemingly separate, unrelated horror short film. The found footage format of the films intensifies the realism of the bizarre, terrifying acts they showcase.
Each tape reveals a different story: amateur night escapades that take a bloodcurdling turn, a couple’s eerie encounter in a motel room documented by hidden cameras, friends on a seemingly ordinary trip to the woods that spirals into a nightmare, a video chat that unmasks an unthinkable horror, and a Halloween night that becomes horrifically real. As the intruders delve deeper into the labyrinth of tapes, the line between reality and the gruesome content they watch starts to blur, pulling them into a vortex of paranormal activity and violence.
