Jeff, Who Lives at Home
Director: Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass
Actors: Jason Segel, Ed Helms, Judy Greer
PlotJeff is a 30-year-old, unemployed man who still lives in his mother Sharon's basement. His life is largely uneventful, driven by a belief in signs from the universe stemming from an obsession with the movie "Signs." One day, a wrong number asking for "Kevin" sparks a belief in Jeff that the universe is directing him towards an important destiny. Meanwhile, Sharon, who's feeling disconnected and dissatisfied with life after her husband's death, spends her days at work and is fixated on the mystery of a secret admirer who's leaving post-it notes for her.
As Jeff sets out, ostensibly to perform a simple errand for his mother, he is sidetracked by multiple 'signs' that he interprets as directing him to pursue people named Kevin. On the same day, his brother Pat, who is struggling with his own issues of a failing marriage and a general feeling of stagnation in life, inadvertently crosses paths with Jeff. Pat’s skepticism towards Jeff's belief in destiny contrasts with Jeff's unwavering faith that he's onto something significant. Their chance meeting launches them on an unplanned adventure, which forces the siblings to deal with long-standing resentments and offers them a chance to reevaluate their life choices.
