PlotIn the bustling plaza of Salamanca, Spain, world leaders gather for a historic summit on the global war against terror. The crowd is a mix of excited spectators, stern security personnel, and the international press, all awaiting the appearance of the U.S. President. When President Ashton takes the stage to deliver his address, chaos erupts as shots ring out and he falls to the ground, the victim of an attempted assassination. In the ensuing pandemonium, the Secret Service agents spring into action to secure the area and hunt down the gunman.
The narrative unfolds from the perspectives of multiple people entangled in the event: a veteran Secret Service agent battling his inner demons while trying to protect the President; his partner, tasked with unraveling the web of lies surrounding the shooting; an American tourist with his camcorder who captures footage that might be key to solving the mystery; a local Spanish police officer who faces his own challenges amidst the chaos; and a news producer who navigates the unfolding story as it's broadcast to the world. Each perspective revisits the moments leading up to the shooting, revealing different facets of what initially seemed to be a clear-cut incident. The shifting vantage points twist and overlap, exposing deceptions and raising questions about the true motive behind the assassination attempt.
