Chicken Run
Director: Peter Lord, Nick Park
Actors: Mel Gibson, Julia Sawalha, Phil Daniels
PlotIn a bleak farm in Yorkshire, England, a group of chickens live under the strict watch of the Tweedys, a pair of dour farmers who demand constant egg production under threat of death if quotas aren't met. Among these chickens is Ginger, an intrepid hen who dreams of freedom beyond the high fences of the farm. Despite repeated attempts and failures to escape, Ginger refuses to give up hope, consistently devising new plans to liberate herself and her fellow chickens. Her resolve and ingenuity make her a beacon of hope for the coop, though her plans are met with varying degrees of skepticism and enthusiasm from the chickens’ idiosyncratic personalities.
The arrival of Rocky, a charismatic American rooster, seems to bring the promise of change. With his flamboyant demeanor and tales of life outside the farm, Rocky becomes an instant celebrity among the chickens, particularly enchanting Ginger. Rocky’s claim of being able to fly sparks a daring idea in Ginger’s mind: to teach all the chickens to fly and thus enable their great escape. Uncertain of Rocky's mysterious past and the feasibility of their aerial ambition, the chickens embark on a series of humorous and heartfelt training sessions in the hopes of achieving what seems impossible, all the while dodging the increasingly suspicious eyes of the Tweedys, who harbor their own secret, sinister plan for the farm.
