PlotTed, a living teddy bear, marries his girlfriend Tami-Lynn, but their marriage faces challenges that lead them to consider having a child. However, after realizing he can't father a child biologically, Ted and his best friend John explore various options, including adoption and artificial insemination. During the process, Ted encounters legal obstacles when the government declares he is not a person but property, resulting in the annulment of his marriage and loss of all civil rights.
Desperate to restore his personhood and protect his rights, Ted enlists the help of a young lawyer named Samantha Jackson. Joining forces, Ted, John, and Samantha embark on a journey to take on the legal system and prove Ted's humanity. They face numerous setbacks and challenges but remain determined to win the case. Along the way, they form a strong bond and learn valuable lessons about friendship, love, and what it truly means to be human. They confront societal prejudices and strive to change how others perceive Ted and his right to a dignified life.
