Sky High
Director: Mike Mitchell
Actors: Kurt Russell, Kelly Preston, Michael Angarano
PlotIn a world where superheroes are common and revered, the teenage son of two legendary heroes, The Commander and Jetstream, struggles with the pressure of living up to his parents' legacy. As he enters Sky High, a floating high school for teens with superpowers, he faces the usual challenges of adolescence alongside the unique complexities of managing emerging supernatural abilities. Deemed to have no superpowers, he is placed in the sidekick track instead of the hero course his parents were famous for. He quickly forms a group of friends, all sidekicks, who support each other while dealing with the social hierarchy of the school.
During his time at Sky High, the young protagonist encounters bullies, potential romances, and the burden of high expectations. While trying to find his place, he also explores the history of his parents' prowess, grappling with the question of whether he will ever be able to fill their shoes. All this occurs under the looming presence of a former enemy of his parents, adding an additional layer of tension to his school experience and his personal identity crisis.
