The Last Stand

Director: Jee-woon Kim
Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville
PlotSheriff Ray Owens is a former LAPD narcotics officer who has resigned himself to the quiet life of Sommerton Junction, a small border town. His mundane routine is interrupted when news reaches him of a notorious cartel boss, Gabriel Cortez, escaping from FBI custody. Cortez, a ruthless and cunning fugitive, is heading for the Mexico border at breakneck speed in a specially-outfitted sports car, which is a part of a sophisticated plan to evade the law. Owens initially dismisses the threat as outside his jurisdiction, but as the situation escalates, it becomes clear that the criminal's path will lead him directly through Sommerton Junction.
No longer able to stay on the sidelines, Owens musters his team to prepare for the inevitable confrontation. His inexperienced but loyal deputies, along with a ragtag crew of townspeople including a weapon-obsessed museum owner, band together under Owens’ leadership. They are determined to make a stand against Cortez's advancing squad of mercenaries, who are equally intent on ensuring their boss's safe passage across the border. The quiet town transforms into a battleground, with high-speed chases and fierce skirmishes, as Owens and his impromptu posse brace themselves to uphold the law and protect their home at any cost.

Entertaining but predictable and violent, 'The Last Stand' has great video/audio but lacks originality.
