In 1998, four childhood friends—Eric, Linus, Hutch, and Windows—reconnect at their high school reunion. All massive fans of a beloved sci-fi franchise, they bond over their shared dream of seeing the yet-to-be-released new installment of their favorite series. Linus is revealed to have terminal cancer and likely won't live to see the official release. Driven by their love for the franchise and their desire to fulfill Linus's last wish, they embark on a cross-country road trip to break into the film studio’s headquarters and watch an early cut of the movie. Along for the ride is Zoe, who joins them in an act of solidarity and adventure.
