Almost Christmas
Director: David E. Talbert
Actors: Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Danny Glover
PlotWalter Meyers, a widowed patriarch, eagerly anticipates a rare family reunion for the holidays. His hopes center on bringing his fractured family together under one roof for the first time since his wife’s passing. Each of his four adult children arrives with their own load of personal issues and unresolved conflicts, threatening to disrupt the festive spirit. Rachel, a struggling single mother and unsuccessful businesswoman, often clashes with her sister Cheryl, a dentist who appears to have it all together. Meanwhile, Christian, an ambitious politician, struggles to balance the demands of his campaign with his commitment to family, and youngest son Evan, a former athlete grappling with his own demons, hasn't quite found his footing in life.
There are added pressures from traditional holiday expectations as well when Aunt May, an outspoken and opinionated culinary perfectionist, stakes her claim over the holiday meals. The tension escalates as secrets surface and old wounds are reopened, forcing everyone to confront the past and their relationships with each other. Alongside scattered moments of humor and heartfelt interactions, the family navigates through misunderstandings and differences. Walter's heartfelt desire for harmony and reconciliation hinges on the possibility of reliving cherished traditions while forging new ones.
