The Spy Next Door

Actors: Jackie Chan, Amber Valletta, Billy Ray Cyrus
PlotBob Ho, a Chinese spy working with the CIA, is on the verge of retiring to a peaceful life with his girlfriend, Gillian. Gillian, who has no knowledge of his secret identity, lives next door with her three children, who view Bob as a nerdy, underwhelming presence. When Gillian must leave town unexpectedly to care for her injured father, Bob offers to babysit the children in an attempt to win their approval and prove his reliability as a partner. Despite his impressive spy skills, Bob finds himself struggling with typical parental challenges, from preparing meals to dealing with sibling squabbles.
Complicating matters further, Bob's past catches up with him when a Russian terrorist named Poldark escapes from prison and resumes his nefarious plans. Bob's dual life becomes increasingly difficult to juggle as he must protect Gillian's children from danger while keeping them unaware of his true profession. Unexpectedly bonding with the kids, Bob manages to teach them valuable lessons about responsibility and courage. As the situation intensifies, Bob is forced to rely on both his espionage expertise and newfound paternal instincts to ensure everyone's safety.

The Spy Next Door is a decent action-packed choice for pre-teen boys but may not appeal to all children, despite its non-offensive content and Jackie Chan's charm.
