Thir13en Ghosts
Director: Steve Beck
Actors: Tony Shalhoub, Shannon Elizabeth, Embeth Davidtz
PlotArthur Kriticos, a widower, is struggling to rebuild his life with his two children, Kathy and Bobby, after the tragic loss of his wife. Arthur's life takes an unexpected turn when he learns that his eccentric uncle Cyrus has died and left him a seemingly generous inheritance: a grand and mysterious glass house. Upon their arrival, the Kriticos family, along with their nanny Maggie, discovers that the house is made almost entirely of glass and filled with a bizarre collection of shifting walls and elaborate mechanical devices. Unbeknownst to them, the house also serves as a prison for a group of violent and malevolent spirits.
The family's initial wonder quickly turns to horror as they encounter the estate's lawyer, Benjamin Moss, who meets a gruesome fate while trying to secure his payment from a hidden safe. Enigmatic psychic Kalina Oretzia reveals to the family that the house is actually a machine designed by the late Cyrus to open the "Eye of Hell,'' thus granting immense power to the one who controls it. As more vicious spirits are inadvertently released by the machine's mechanisms, the Kriticos family must confront the terrifying truth about their inheritance and search for a way to survive the night within the walls of the perilous, ghost-infested mansion.
