Targets
Director: Peter Bogdanovich
Actors: Tim O'Kelly, Boris Karloff, Nancy Hsueh
PlotIn an unsettling blend of fiction and stark reality, a seemingly normal young man, Bobby Thompson, is living a double life in Los Angeles. By day, he is a quiet, conventional husband with a love for guns; by night, a cold, calculating figure with a chilling obsession. As Bobby's private collection of firearms grows, so does his appetite for violence. His mundane job and oppressive family life start to fuel his descent into madness, leading him to embark on a terrifying spree across the city. In the midst of this silent chaos, he meticulously plans his ultimate assault, targeting innocent lives with a sniper's precision.
Conversely, an aging horror film star, Byron Orlok, is confronting the end of his illustrious acting career. Feeling out of touch in a world that has moved beyond the gothic horrors that made him famous, Orlok announces his retirement, much to the dismay of his associates and fans. As he prepares for one final public appearance, his path begins to overlap with Bobby's spiral of violence. Orlok, representative of old-school horror and fantasy, finds himself face-to-face with the all-too-real terror of modern-day brutality, leading to a climax where the worlds of fantasy and reality grimly intersect.

Targets shares DNA with Sniper & City of Fear, is both a tribute to Karloff & prophetic, but its 4K update disappoints.
