In Nazi-occupied Holland, Captain Stefan Brandt, a German soldier, is assigned to protect exiled Kaiser Wilhelm II at his secluded mansion. As Brandt executes his duties, he becomes captivated by Mieke de Jong, a young, beautiful maid working in the household.
