PlotHenry Roth, a marine veterinarian living in Hawaii, enjoys the company of women but avoids serious commitments due to his dream of sailing to Alaska to study walruses. His life takes a turn when he meets Lucy Whitmore at a café one morning. They hit it off instantly, sharing a connection Henry hasn't felt in a long time. However, the next day, when Henry seeks her out again, Lucy has no recollection of him. He discovers that Lucy suffers from short-term memory loss due to a car accident she was in a year ago. Every night, her memory resets, and she wakes up thinking it's the same day of the accident.
Determined to be with Lucy, Henry devises new and creative ways to meet her again each day, hoping she'll fall in love with him again. As they spend more time together, Henry learns the full extent of Lucy's condition and the daily challenges she faces. Alongside her protective father, Marlin, and brother, Doug, he tries to create a tapestry of moments that can help Lucy piece together a new routine that includes him. Despite the inherent difficulties, their budding relationship explores the themes of love, commitment, and the importance of cherishing every day to its fullest.
